My home, like your home, is a sanctuary of immeasurable importance. Thus, making one's home beautiful goes hand-in-hand with life and living, and all of it is so important. To care for one's home and living space, independent of its structural value or its size and so on, is so important in terms of extending the joy into one's life. For me, taking care of my family is always directly linked to how I am passionate about beautifying my home. This isn't about vanity or about spending unnecessary resources to go beyond shelter and comfort. Rather, this is about one's life, which includes one's home environment and being able to enjoy that environment to the fullest.
To make one's home beautiful and comfortable means being able to understand what components go with the aesthetic value and needs of one's family. For me, my family and I have moved many times over the years. But each time, I try to create an environment that is befitting of my needs and my family's needs. The beautification starts with several steps.
First, I look at what structural changes can I make to improve my living environment. For example, I will look at the kitchen and see if moving the refrigerator will help to give the room more ambiance and space. If it becomes necessary to buy a new refrigerator, I try my best to talk my family into helping me select. This process can be applied to the whole house. Namely, what physical alterations can you make to improve the space and put resources to better use?
Second, I go from room to room and make notes of things that I like and things that I don't like. For example, if the living room sofa is blocking the walkway, I will write that down. If I like the curtains I will make note of that. After I go through all the house and do this, I will begin to sense what needs work and what will be the center of my focus. This will help me to get to the third stage: my plan of action.
The third part in beautifying one's home is to come up with a plan for each room. What things do I like and how will I structure and change the room to match the things and elements that I find pleasing. For example, if I like the living room curtains, then I need to find away to make the curtains match the furnishings and everything else in the living room. The important thing here is to find a line between functionality and beautify, while not neglecting the family's comfort.
The last part, after I have rearranged the entire house, is to make sure that everything is according to my original plan. Of course, thing can change and not everything can be accomplished right away, so time can change one's taste and mind. That is okay, because a home is a home before it is a work of art. When I set to beautifying my home, the task could take several years, depending on my life and the home itself. I wish you joy and happiness in pursing your passion of beautifying your home.
